Satellite Imagery

Ideal Solutions established an exclusive business relationship in Qatar with Space Imaging Middle East (SIME) to offer high resolution satellite imagery in many schemes and scenarios. Moreover our solution includes providing on-site technical support, consultation and training to ensure full utilization of imagery data, and commitment to develop and enhance, providing the latest in integrated technologies, and ensuring a better way in which to view the world. The IKONOS satellite is capable of imagery collection over the Gulf and Middle East region as well as the entire populated portion of the Earth’s surface. IKONOS sensors collect data in five spectral bands with the nominal ground sample distances. With an 11 km swath width, the collection ability of IKONOS is very flexible and can provide long strips, large or small areas or areas of varying shapes or sizes. The IKONOS satellite takes commercial imagery to the next level very high resolution and a ground positional accuracy of two meters when high-resolution DEMs and ground control points are used. The satellite has the ability to revisit an area every 3 days. Imagery can be delivered in Geo 1-meter Color (natural color band combination i.e. RGB) and georeferenced to the any National Grid or to international WGS projection. The accuracy of the final product depends on the accuracy of the available collateral data. SIME can provide orthorectified, Mosaicked and color balanced imagery to create the most homogenous mosaic possible. Once mosaicking is complete, imagery can be delivered as 10 km x 5 km tiles based on supplied tile index. A typical situation under which interested organizations may choose to order IKONOS imagery either:
• New imagery acquisition project of large area with full processing, mosaicking and tiling.
• Periodic Update. Under this subscription plan, the organization may establish a subscription plan for urban areas by identifying areas of interest that require frequent updates of imagery within the same calendar year. Organization can outline routine specific windows for new imagery acquisition every month to be scheduled on the same date. A minimum windows extent is 100 square kilometers
• Order on Demand. Under this subscription plan, the organization may order high priority areas of Interest on demand. Such orders typically would require quick turnaround time.
• Purchase of archive data of a specific area. In 2003, ISC & SIME has imaged and delivered map-accurate imagery of 11,500 sq. km. of the entire country of Qatar to the Center for GIS (CGIS). IKONOS imagery has facilitated CGIS to update and maintain a content-rich image base for mapping while providing online access to Qatar’s government agencies.
